Bueno, I'm busy this week with nurse aide training. As many of you have already heard, I now have a job with Burton Health Care, the nursing home that is just around the corner from Mom and Dad's house. Quite convenient, if you ask me. This week and the next I'm in a course to be state tested.
It's really been great to see how the Lord really does bless His RMs. When I returned, I was quickly full of questions and doubts as to what exactly I should do, where I should live, if I wanted to continue in the same major (Nursing) at BYU, etc. However, in these weeks, I've been reminded that if we really are seeking to do the Lord's will, He will guide and direct us. He will provide a way and bless us. For example, I wasn't going to be able to do the training course until April. I asked if there would be some way to verify if the class would still be full, or if I could just show up, hoping there'd be space. That same afternoon, the secretary of the nursing home called me to let me know a spot had opened up in the class, so if I'd hurry, we could get all the details taken care of so I could start the next Monday (that was Thursday). Thus, a better opportunity was provided. I distinctly felt it was a blessing the Lord was showing me for trusting that I didn't need to worry about making arrangements before returning from the mission, and just having faith that He'd provide if I did my part upon returning. I also felt it was a direct answer to the prayers of faith (many that I'd witnessed) of wonderful parents.
On that note, I just want to mention how special it is for me to be here at home, hearing the prayers our parents offer up for us, their children. I love that there is no attitude of, "Well, just bless all the kids…we don't want to take up too much breath to go into detail about everyone…you know what to do, God." Instead, they take time to pray about each and everyone of us, with our needs, problems, concerns, etc., as well as those of your families (where applicable). It's just something that makes me feel so grateful. Of course, we are often mentioned in age order. It occurred to me the other night that though I am always last in that line, I never feel like the least, but that we are all so loved. Just as we have been able to feel all our lives. It makes me ponder how our Father in Heaven knows us and loves us, each one. The fact that, even with our weaknesses, there is no "least" or "unimportant" one in His eyes. I'm grateful for that.
This past Sunday I attempted to go to the singles' branch, as commanded (well, strongly suggested) by the Stake Presidency. I have no problem with that, though. I asked for the appropriate building address from the family branch president here. With the help of Mapquest, I knew just what to do. So I headed off to my new adventures in the singles' branch. I arrived at the given address without problem only to find it was a street full of houses. No church, of any sort, could be seen in the vicinity. However, there was a house with just that address. I recalled that it had been referred to as a "ward building" and knew that it could not be a tiny branch meeting in a home. So, remembering my missionary courage, I went up and knocked on the door, only to find no one home. My further efforts to locate the building by using the telephone book and gas station clerks were also fruitless. I decided to not get lost in a strange part of Cleveland, far from my home. So I came home, grateful I'd gone to testimony meeting in the morning at my home branch. Now I am left contemplating the implications of that experience.
Does this mean I really am not supposed to attend the singles' branch? Could it be that I am being protected from Eastern, marriage-happy single men? Perhaps the missionary sisters in my home branch were praying that I'd remain there? Is my home branch president subtly doing all he can to keep me in this branch? Or maybe somebody upstairs knew I needed a nap really badly.
Speaking of which, I'd like to go to bed right now.

Haha! Did you figure out where the church really was? And did you have a good nap?
