Holiday Memories

It's been three years. Even though we missed many, it was a joy to be with family at home for Christmas again.
As soon as Peanut and Co. arrived, Marty was busy urging us to play, and golf became the gold standard until too many people felt too far behind. I'll admit that my score was the highest, so I certainly must have won... Up and down the ladder and pictionary brought fun moments, too. With regard to pictionary, I'm still impressed at our powers of deduction, because some of the artistry is questionable, but somehow someone almost always catches on. Considering the fact that it is Bible pictionary, some of the phrases were quite appropriate for the season. Of course, that didn't stop us from guessing "monkey" frequently, just in case.

Like many other years, the season also became a time for puzzles and movies, usually simultaneously. The only problem was that the puzzle strawberries were so appetizing that they were a real temptation. I only saw Mom lick it once, though. Razor stuck to licking bacon-sopped broccoli.
Speaking of Razor, one of the littlest girl's favorite activities involved chasing around a certain "puppy". I was amazed that she never lost the excitement of seeing a doggie, even her own.

When Boss's Gang arrived, a new form of chaos developed. I refer not to the presence of small children, but the invasion of the front room by Brats and Barbie paraphanilia. Yes, Coach was thrilled to bring home another house and plenty of dolls, with all the accesories possible, including fake bars of soap, and, as I said, paraphanilia (okay, maybe it was designed to be a glass of an unspecified beverage, but it also looked suspiciously like a bong, as Peanut and Boss pointed out).
With some of his Christmas money, Marty found just what he needed: guitar hero. Thus, that became a new hit. I think it can be used as a great form of stress relief, whether you prefer to jam, slam, or scream, I mean, sing. I'm grateful for a musical family.
There's some evidence above.

Most of all, I enjoyed the moments shared as we knelt to pray and sang carols to our King. I'm so grateful for a wonderful family that I can be with forever because our Savior did come and do His part. As He gave Himself to save and redeem us, so must I give my life to Him. May we better remember His sacrifice now and throughout the year, learning how to become more like Him as we apply His Atonement in our lives. Thank God for the wondrous gift of His Son.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I'll see you in Provo, if you're there. :)

Sue! I have a sneaking suspicion that round about that 4th pic down there's a piano I can't see- and that y'all are standing around singing at it. I am TRAUMATIZED! Except for camping out in the chiggers with AnneMarie, and having to sing hymns until we fall asleep to keep from having nightmares- I think that's what I miss the most. And you're DOING it and FLAUNTING it! :P XOXOX
