Why don't I know of a common dessert served in Mormon communities called by the name above? If anyone does know about such a delectable delight, please let me know. I think it should involve coconut.
So one of the sisters who provided me with instuction and led me through the temple last week had a very interesting name: Sandy Banks. Clearly, this indicates I was in the right place at the right time, or someone really wants me to keep my blog updated. Perhaps both. It was pretty funny, though. Of course, when this was pointed out as we, a group of silly Henrichsens, were walking through the hall...(or was it the comment that we needed to look for a Frogmorton, who would clearly be my future husband), giggles burst forth from our silly/funny/goofy cores, eliciting a slightly dirty look from one temple worker beside us as well as the attention of people down the hall. Other than that, we were completely good, though. It was wonderful to be there with so many loved ones. I really appreciate the effort my loving family put forth to be there with me. (I'm also grateful for the long-distance love and support from so many others.) To make the day even better, many old friends from our branch in PA were there. It was neat to share a special day with a brother who years ago refused to listen to the missionaries. Not only did he go through the temple during the same session, but his family was able to be sealed together for eternity the same day.
Enjoying these blessings and experiencing the love of the Lord so abundantly only makes me want to go out and share the truth with others even more. It truly is "good news".
It sure is great to know I can be stuck with such a wonderful family forever. I think I could take that. :)

I could take being stuck with our wonderful family forever too. Congratulations, Daisy. Sounds like it was a great weekend. Plus, I think I might have to come up with some coconut yummy goodness to call temple treat.
There are Temple Chocolate chip cookies. They are good, although they don't involve coconut. (Actually, if you add coconut to the recipe, it comes pretty close to Aunt Edy's cookies).
Congratulations on your temple trip. I'm glad you had a wonderful time. Sorry I couldn't be there with ya'll. But at least we have eternity. :)
I have a recipe for a coconut & pineapple dessert called "ambrosia bars" that could probably qualify as heavenly.
Also, families are nice. You are nice. I love you.
I was imagining something like a macaroon but with caramel and cinnamon, but ambrosia bars sound pretty good, too.
It is a pretty great fammily to be stuck with/in ...good thing we like ourselves so much, huh, or forever would be a long, long time! ;)
Congratulations, Daisy! We love you and are happy for you!
How about coconut, caramel and chocolate. Like the GS Samoas. Which one of you can figure out how to dupicate that?
Oooohhh! Samoas! When a get a spare moment, maybe I'll try. On second thought, I really don't think I can!
Here is the recipe for Temple Chocolate Chip Cookies - just add coconut if you like. Personally I like to add oats.
(Maybe if I eat them more often my cholesterol will go down ...)
Ree - Look here for a Samoas recipe.
