Hello! I may have some problems with writing correctly this time, not only because <i think a lot in Spanglish now, but because this keyboard has some stubborn keys..buttons. <yeah, whichever word we use. Anyway, thank you so much for the updates. <i´m sorry to hear about the miscarriage, AM. In terms of who can have my email address and email me, family is all good. Others could legally read my emails (ie on my blog or by forward). I don´t think there´s a limit to how many emails <i can send out each week. As far as <i know, I´ll always be able to have email access. <i´ll let you know if I get to an area where that is not the truth.
This week, and for the next 3, there´s a sister from the ward volunteering to serve with us so that we have two sets of sisters working. thus, I´ve been working with Hna Ramos. I´m not really sure why they decided to put the almost finished sister with the already year and a half RM sister, and leave the two newer sisters together, but it´s all good. we´ve been able to teach and visit a lot more families, obviously. We´re still working with the Jurado family, preparing them for baptism on the 21. They came, the parents with the two younger girls (ages 9 and 12) to church yesterday. I know the hno has been reading the BOM consistently and that they´ve even read as a family. the girls and the hno seem the most excited. Unfortunately, <i don´t think hno J enjoyed his experience at church yesterday, even though he did like conference the Sat before. We´ll have to see. We´re also worried that <hna J doesn´t seem very enthusiastic about it all. <however, we´re going to visit them and talk about things tonight <(well, Hna sierra and Castro). I pray all with go forward smoothly. which reminds me that we should warn them about obstacles coming up to deter them from making this important decision that is so necessary for their salvation. I´ve seen the light in their eyes grow, especially with the girls. It´s amazing what an influence the righteous desires of children can have on the parents. I love it. Oh, and I might need the pizza dough recipie, because they asked me if I knew how to make pizza, so we could have it at their house to celebrate after they are baptized. I assume I´ll be able to find all the ingredients at the store. We go to a big supermarket, and you pretty much can find everything. Peanut butter was probably about the same price in the states, but expensive with our budget. Luckily, though, I´ve been taught the skill of frugality. :) thanks.
<one of the biggest obstacles here is that so few people get married. They´ll be together for years and have a bunch of kids and just not be married. Thus, we teach the law of chastity a lot. Almost as many times as we teach the first discussion. Because of that, an other family is not really progressing much, but more because the young man hasn´t read and prayed. It´s difficult when one doesn´t seem as serious and the other is ready to progress, but they need to get married and there´s obstacles like that. the marriage by law isn´t complicated at all, but sometimes there´s permission from parents issues, previous divorces that weren´t taken care of, etc. Nonetheless, we teach clearly that it is a commandment of the Lord and a life like that is sinful and something God abhors.
¿Qué más? Oh yeah, we knew there was a mouse in our apartment...<i don´t really remember what the answer was to my question concerning what measures they´d taken to kill the rodent...but our solution was just to put grains and things that it would get into during the night on the safe counter or in the fridge. Then, a couple nights ago, we arrived at home and started cooking some dinner when Hna Ramos gasped and pointed next to the stove (a camper stove). There, with eyes open in absolute stillness, sat the mouse. We just continued with our cooking. When some of the other sisters came home (there´s six in the house), we showed them and Hna apaza got a bag to pick it up and take care of it. when she was obviously freaked out to do such a thing, <i took the bag, to which we added another bag, just for more distance from the creature, and picked up our dead kitchen friend to put him out on the street to be collected with the garbage. We also found a dead cochroach out where we do laundry...we almost always have running water. <<:) Welcome to the mission.
I would ask for a recipie for brkt cake, but we don´t really have an oven or much time in the morning. Maybe in another area with a different person to shower ratio.
<most of the food here is just sold on the street, including right outside our place. <I haven´t really understood the odd screaming-advertising they do in the morning before, but today <I realized he was actually saying something with real words, not just chanting garble-naranjas! I´ve seen that the Lord continues to answer prayers, as we´ll read something in the morning that is perfect to share with someone during the day who we didn´t even know before, and as <i understand more in general. That is my plea often, now, that I may understand their concerns and problems so <i can help them. Spanish in itself is not the goal, it is doing this, the Lord´s work, here in Ecuador where He wants me to be. I know the church is true. the Lord does direct this work. Jesus is our Saviour and Friend. We just need to follow His example and seek Him always.
Love you!

Ecuatad: people here don´t peel or slice and eat oranges as we do; they cut off the outer rind part (green here, usually, but also more fresh from trees) and a little part off the top and suck them. interesante!
